It's been a trend in recent years for celebrities to delay the release of their baby's name--usually for a few weeks, even months. However, actors Peter Dinklage and Josh Hartnett have never revealed the names of their children, and their daughters are five and two years old, respectively! Now they both have a second child on the way--will we find out the names of those babies, or continue to be left in the dark?
We also have some stars this month expecting Irish twins--two siblings born less than a year apart. Supermodel Bar Refaeli is pregnant for the second time, only months after giving birth to her daughter Liv. Lauren Gregory and Thomas Rhett were in the process of adopting a baby from Africa when they found out they were pregnant with a little girl. Now they have two babies on the way that should arrive around the same time. How will these celebrities go about naming their Irish twins? I have my predictions, but we'll have to wait and see.
Erica Schmidt and Peter Dinklage
Gender: unknown
Siblings: sister (name not released)
Peter Dinklage has managed to keep his daughter's name a secret for over five years, but rumors abound that her name is Zelig. According to Peter, this is not true, although it seems like a fitting name for the couple. Both of their surnames are of Germanic origin, and Zelig is a Yiddish derivation of the German name Selig. Keeping that in mind, I chose some similarly strong and quirky names for their next child.
Girl: Agnes, Editha, Elza, Francie. Frieda, Hettie, Hilda, Ilsa, Meret, Tresa
Boy: Alric, Anton, Bruno, Jannick, Kaiser, Rainier, Raymond, Roderick, Rollo
Tamsin Egerton and Josh Hartnett
Gender: unknown
Siblings: sister (name not released)
Like the Dinklages, Tamsin Egerton and Josh Hartnett have never released the name of their daughter. However, given Tamsin's British heritage, I'd wager that their little girl (and her upcoming sibling) has a name with some serious English style.
Girl: Edie, Elena, Eloise, Felicity, Iris, Libby, Lydia, Millie, Orla, Poppy
Boy: Arlo, Dashiell, Elias, Finlay, Harry, Jasper, Luca, Rory, Tobias, Theo
Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg
Gender: girl
Siblings: Maxima "Max"
Facebook mogul Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan chose the clunky-cool name Maxima for their daughter in 2015, but call her by the tomboyish nickname Max. Now they're expecting their second daughter--will we see another long Latin name with a sassy nickname?
Girl: Aurelia, Avalon, Cecily, Livia, Lucia, Minerva, Noa, Romilly, Rosette
*Update* Hello, August!
Xosha Roquemore and Lakeith Stanfield
Gender: unknown
Siblings: none
Xosha Roquemore was named after the Xhosa people--a tribe originally from South Africa. Her father got the idea after researching South African tribes for a play he directing, and Xosha herself went on to study abroad in Ghana during her college years. It's clear that African culture is important to Xosha and her family, which makes me think her baby will have a name with some African influence.
Girl: Amara, Kaia, Kessie, Lissa, Marjani, Nia, Nyala, Sekai, Shona, Zella
Boy: Ayo, Kayin, Kofi, Kwame, Lekan, Massai, Obi, Odion, Taye, Zaire
Casey Wilson and David Caspe
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Max Red
Comedian Casey Wilson and her producer husband David Caspe may have played it safe (by celebrity standards) with the first name Max for their son, but kicked it up a notch with the very bold Red for his middle name. I have a feeling they'll follow a similar pattern for their next son or daughter, so I chose some well-liked, somewhat trendy names for the baby's first name.
Girl: Clare, Daisy, Evie, Frankie, Ivy, Kate, Kit, Phoebe, Piper, Sadie, Tess
Boy: Charlie, Finn, Gray, Henry, Jack, Jude, Liam, Luke, Nate, Owen, Rhys
*Update* Welcome, Henry Bear!
Elvira Lind and Oscar Isaac
Gender: unknown
Siblings: none
Oscar Isaac is Guatemalan-American, while his girlfriend Elvira Lind is Danish. It may come as a surprise considering Denmark and Guatemala are halfway across the world from each other, but there are actually quite a few names that are used in both countries. I've listed some of them here, along with names I think have the potential to cross over.
Girl: Alba, Amada, Camila, Elena, Isla, Liv, Luna, Maya, Nessa, Signe, Sofia
Boy: Arlo, Bastien, Casper, Hugo, Jonathan, Marco, Otto, Soren, Teo, Viggo
*Update* Baby boy is Eugene, after Oscar's mother, Eugenia!
Bar Refaeli and Adi Ezra
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Liv
Just seven months after the birth of her daughter Liv, Bar Refaeli has announced that she's pregnant again! Bar and her husband Adi are Israeli, and even though Liv is a Scandinavian name, it works well with many Hebrew names. I'm guessing we'll see another short name (maybe also containing the "it" letter V) for Liv's Irish twin.
Girl: Alma, Alva, Avia, Evie, Maya, Mika, Naomi, Niva, Tali, Zadie
Boy: Ash, Bram, Eli, Micah, Nevo, Omri, Oren, Rom. Shai, Tal, Uri
*Update* Another girl--Elle!
Lauren Gregory and Thomas Rhett Akins
Gender: girl and unknown
Siblings: none
Country singer Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren are expecting a baby girl, and meanwhile are adopting a baby (of unknown gender) from Africa. The couple has said they want to use family names, and are open to feminizations of male names for their daughter. Thomas is a junior himself, so if the adopted baby is a boy, could there be a Thomas Rhett Akins III?
Girl: Grace, Gracen, Greta, Kasey, Leah, Macy, Paige, Retta, Tamsin
Boy: Everett, Grayson, Gregor, Gregory, Lawrence, Lee, Rhett, Thomas
*Update* The Akins' adopted baby girl is Willa Gray!
*Second Update* Baby girl number two is Ada James!

10 T Names You Never Thought of Using: Girls
![]() |
Tacy- I'll always have a soft spot for Tacy, after reading the Betsy, Tacy, and Tib books when I was younger. She can be used as a nickname for Anastasia, and is perfect for honoring a Stacy.
Tamar- I love Tamar. She's a strong, powerful name that Americans should embrace. She has never been in the U.S. top 1000, but she is much more popular in Georgia and Israel.
Tamsin- Tamsin is a diminutive of the Thomasina, both of which are scarcely heard in the United States. She would work nicely as an honor name for a Tamara or Tammy.
Tarot- Are you a fortune teller? Maybe an astrology enthusiast? Consider Tarot for a daughter. She has a lovely sound, and would be a great middle name.
Thais- Thais is a gorgeous Greek name that has never been in the top 1000. She ranks at #4873, so it's practically guaranteed that she'll be the only Thais on the block.
Thisbe- Thisbe is a more well-known Greek name--because of her role in Greek mythology. Her story may be a tragic one, but her name is still a perfectly fine choice.
True- True is a Modern Virtue Name that works well on a girl or a boy. Cakies blogger Rubyellen used True for her daughter (with sisters named Brave, Soul, and Glow).
Tuesday- Days of the week names aren't particularly popular, but I think Tuesday is one of the best. She's a quirky day name without Addams family associations.
Tulia- Tulia wins for my favorite of the list. I recently met the most wonderful woman named Tulia, and she made me fall in love with her name. Tulia is perfect if you're looking for a more interesting alternative to Julia.
Twila- Twila peaked in the 1930s, which means she's almost ready for a comeback. Even though we may be a decade early, I think Twila would work really well for the 2015 baby of a night owl.

Celebrity Baby Name Predictions: Volume 19
2017 was a rock-star year for celebrity pregnancies and birth announcements. Mark Zuckerberg, Serena Williams, and Mindy Kaling all welcomed daughters this year. Beyoncé and Amal Clooney each had twins!
We have plenty to look forward to in 2018. Jessica Alba and Hilaria Baldwin are having sons, there are three (yes, three!) Kardashian babies on the way, and, of course, Kate Middleton is currently pregnant with the newest prince or princess.
There are even some amazing announcements that happened in this month alone. Stars like Dwayne Johnson, Seth Meyers, and Lin-Manuel Miranda are all adding to their broods. John Stamos, Kirsten Dunst, and Eva Longoria are all going to become first-time parents in 2018.
So Happy (almost) New Year! If this month is predicative of the year to come, it's going to be a good one--in the world of celebrity baby names, at least.
Alexi Ashe and Seth Meyers
Gender: boy
Siblings: Ashe Olsen
We all remember Seth Meyer's heartwarming explanation of his baby's name--his son Ashe Olsen is named after "the two most important women" in his life--his wife and mother. Obviously family names are valued by Alexi and Seth, so I wouldn't be surprised if their next son has one of the following names, inspired by their family trees:
Boy: Alistair, Beck, Laurence, Lorcan, Owen, Sasha, Thomas

*Update* Welcome, Axel Strahl!
Vanessa Nadal and Lin-Manuel Miranda
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Sebastian
Sebastian is one of those names that translates seamlessly through the English and Spanish-speaking worlds, and is considered stylish within each. It can be hard to capture both these qualities in a name, but I have a feeling that will be a priority for Vanessa and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Girl: Cecilia, Emilia, Isabella, Juliette, Lucia, Maya, Olivia, Valentina
Boy: August, Benjamin, Caleb, Dominic, Gabriel, Julian, Luca, Oscar
*Update* Hello, Francisco!
Gail Simmons and Jeremy Abrams
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Dahlia Rae
Gail Simmons and husband Jeremy Abrams named their daughter Dahlia Rae back in 2014. Her name has special significance to the couple, as dahlias are Gail's favorite flower, and Rae honors a dear relative. Baby number two's name will likely have a hidden meaning as well, and I can't wait to hear what it is.
Girl: Agatha, Aviva, Bryony, Cordelia, Elodie, Felicity, Fiona, Harlow, Winter
Boy: Callum, Edmund, Emmett, Graham, Harris, Linus, Rafe, Roscoe, Theodore
*Update* Welcome, Kole Jack!
Lauren Hashian and Dwayne Johnson
Gender: girl
Siblings: Simone Alexandra (previous relationship), Jasmine Lia
Even though his daughters have different mothers, Dwayne Johnson has managed to create a very well-coordinated sibset--Simone and Jasmine. Now that the Rock's girlfriend Lauren Hashian is expecting his third girl, I'm anxiously awaiting to see which name they add to the mix. I have high expectations for this little girl's name, and would definitely approve of any of the following:
Girl: Emerald, Gabrielle, Genevieve, India, Jade, Portia, Scarlett, Sienna, Summer
*Update* Baby girl is Tiana Gia!
Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec
Gender: unknown twins
Siblings: Skye, Caprice, Brendan (previous relationship)
Unlike the Rock, Robert Herjavec took a more eclectic route to his sibset, with children named Skye, Caprice, and Brendan. Now he's expecting his fourth child with new wife Kym Johnson, and it's hard to say what style name is in the cards for their latest arrival. Perhaps they'll find a name that can bridge the style gap within the sibset, or maybe they'll head in a totally new direction!
Girl: Ainsley, Aria, Bree, Harper, Piper, Tamsin, Victoria, Wynne
Boy: Alexander, Cameron, Connor, Jack, Logan, Nicolai, Weston
*Update* Boy/girl twins--Hudson Robert and Haven Mae!
Caitlin McHugh and John Stamos
Gender: unknown
Siblings: none
John Stamos and fiancee Caitlin McHugh are major Disney fans--so much so that they recently got engaged at Disneyland. This makes me think a Disney-inspired name might be in order for their baby on the way. Nothing too obvious--we're not talking about Mickey or Minnie here--but maybe a name with a bit more subtlety, like Bianca or Flynn.
Girl: Anastasia, Aurora, Belle, Bianca, Daisy, Ella, Jane, Marie, Penny, Ruby
Boy: Flynn, Max, Michael, Oliver, Peter, Percy, Phillip, Samson, Sebastian
*Update* It's a boy--Billy, named after John's father
Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons
Gender: unknown
Siblings: none
Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are set to welcome their first child in 2018. Germany is an important country to Kirsten--she has German heritage on her father's side and is a German citizen. Might her love for Germany extend to German baby names? There are so many great options, so I'd love to see her and Jesse use a German name for their little babe.
Girl: Alice, Clarissa, Frieda, Greta, Ida, Ilse, Romy, Tilly, Zelda
Boy: Axel, Conrad, Fritz, Otto, Raymond, Rudy, Walter, Wolf
*Update* A little boy--Ennis Howard!
Eva Longoria and José Baston
Gender: boy
Siblings: Natalia, Mariana, José Antonio, Sebastian (previous relationship)
Eva Longoria is pregnant with her first child--a boy!--who will be José Baston's fifth. He's already got an excellent sibset set up with his current children, so hopefully Eva and José will choose a complementary Spanish name for their newest son.
Boy: Alvaro, Bruno, Camilo, Emilio, Fernando, Hugo, Mateo, Marcos, Rafael
*Update* He's here--Santiago Enrique!
Vanessa Nadal and Lin-Manuel Miranda

10 English Names You Never Thought of Using: Girls
![]() |
Araminta- Araminta is one of those quintessentially English names. She's long and regal, but in true British style, comes with a spunky nickname--Minty.
Cicely- Cicely is the English form of Cecilia. Switch the i for an e, and you have Cecily--who's poised to break into the top 1000. Or, spell her Sicily, and she becomes an Italian place name.
Ginny- Sweet Ginny was long ago replaced by Jenny, though I believe she may be making a comeback. I've met more than one young Ginny at my job, and she sounds very fresh. In these days where we're tired of Jennys and Jennifers, might Ginny be the perfect solution?
Halsey- Halsey is an undiscovered gem. She's a great alternative and honor name for Hallie and Holly, and she fits right in with the preppy surname trend.
Jennison- Like I said before, people are so over Jennifer (well, not everyone, she's actually still at #220). Jennison is a more contemporary option, and shares many of the same sounds--she's honor name material.
Jessamy- If Jessamine is a little much for you, try Jessamy. This less formal variation is bright and chirpy. She means jasmine flower, which is fantastic if you need to honor a Jasmine.
Norabel- If you're looking to expound upon Nora, but aren't a fan of Honora, Norabel could be the right name for you. She's quirky and cute--and much more interesting than Annabel. Best of all, as a smush name, she has a whole new meaning--beautiful light. Can't get much better than that.
Ouida- I always like to throw a polarizing name into the mix. You're either going to love Ouida, or you'll hate her. She's a diminutive of Louisa and Ouisa, and pronounced WEE-dah. Ouida requires a brave namer, but I think she'd be an amazing addition to many European inspired sibsets (Tilda and Ouida, Romy and Ouida?)
Romilly- Speaking of Romy, my favorite full name for her is Romilly. She was originally a boy name, but now would only be considered for a daughter. Romilly couldn't be more perfect for Italian-English families, considering her British roots and meaning of "man of Rome."
Tamsin- Looking for a good name for a twin? Try Tasmin, as that is her meaning. She comes from Thomasina, a name that's almost never used today. If you must use a nickname, Tamsy is much more modern (and more British) than Tammy.

Celebrity Baby Name Predictions: Volume 22
Sibsets
with half-siblings can be tricky. Often there is the desire to create a
completely cohesive sibset. But new partners can introduce new tastes and
preferences for baby names, so a harmonious sibset isn’t always very possible.
When it
does work out though, it is incredibly satisfying. Stanley Tucci has done a
fantastic job blending the name his youngest child (with wife Felicity Blunt) with
the names of his children from his first marriage. This is especially
impressive considering there is a twelve year age gap between the two youngest.
He and Felicity are set to welcome another little one later this year, and I
can’t wait to hear his or her name.
Many
other celebrities this month have to deal with this half-sibling sibset conundrum.
Kate Hudson is going to be naming a half-sister to Ryder and Bingham, Tyrese
Gibson’s wife Samantha is expecting a baby girl who will be a half-sister to
Shayla, and Cardi B. will be adding a half-sibling to Offset’s brood of Jordan,
Kody, and Kalea.
Whether
or not these stars choose to create cohesive sibsets for half-siblings doesn’t
really matter (there are no rules when it comes to baby naming, at least, not
in the US). The most important thing is that they choose names they are excited
about. So if that means that Stanley Tucci goes rogue and names his baby Caiomhe,
or Cardi B. picks something totally off base from Jordan, Kody, and Kalea, then
I’m cool with it.
Felicity Blunt and Stanley Tucci
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Nicolo
Robert, Isabel Concetta, Camilla (previous relationship), Matteo Oliver
When it comes to his children's names, Stanley
Tucci has wholeheartedly embraced his Italian heritage. All four of his kids
have Italian (or Italian adjacent, a la Isabel) names that work perfectly in an
American context. His youngest son was given the very haute name Matteo, so I think for this next baby we will see
something similarly en vogue (or, I should say, alla moda).
Girl: Alessia,
Allegra, Bianca, Emilia, Fabiana, Lucia, Luna, Viola
Boy: Elio,
Enzo, Leandro, Luca, Samuele, Sandro, Santino, Silvio
*Update* A little girl (and correct prediction)--welcome, Emilia Giovanna!
*Update* A little girl (and correct prediction)--welcome, Emilia Giovanna!
Erin Burnett and David Rubulotta
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Nyle
Thomas Burnett, Colby Isabelle
With children named Nyle and Colby, CNN anchor
Erin Burnett seems to have a penchant for familiar-but-unusual names with a
hint of androgyny. Lucky for her, there is no shortage of options for baby
number three’s name. For a girl, I am crossing my fingers for Darcy—a drastically
underused name that is super sweet (and how cute is it paired with Colby for a
sister-set?). If the baby is a boy, my vote is for Teague. Like Darcy, it doesn’t
break the top 1000, but Teague has a modern sound and is ripe for discovery.
Girl: Blair,
Bree, Bryn, Darcy, Fifer, Harper, James, Logan, Neve, Rory, Tierney
Boy: Alistair,
Brogan, Cian, Errol, Fintan, Gregor, Jett, Lachlan, Quinlan, Teague
*Update* A boy--Owen Thomas!
*Update* A boy--Owen Thomas!
Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Milo
British ex-pats Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty
chose the name Milo for their son—a fashionable choice in both their native and
adoptive homes. I’d love to see them choose something that’s hasn’t hit
the American mainstream for their second baby—something like Elodie or Kit,
perhaps—but I have a feeling they’ll go with a name that is both well-liked and
well-used in both the United States and the United Kingdom, just like they did
with Milo.
Girl: Annika,
Edie, Elodie, Esme, Flora, Freya, Marnie, Matilda, Olive, Poppy, Wren
Boy: Asher,
Axel, Eli, Felix, Frankie, Jasper, Kit, Leon, Oskar, Otto, Remy, Rex, Rhys
*Update* Another boy--James Patrick!
*Update* Another boy--James Patrick!
Samantha and Tyrese Gibson
Gender: girl
Siblings: Shayla
Somer (previous relationship)
Although the name Shayla has almost fallen out
of the top 1000, back when Tyrese Gibson gave it to his daughter ten years ago,
it was still well-used. I expect he and wife Samantha will choose something a
little bit more modern for their new baby daughter—there are plenty of
contemporary choices that still work well with half-sister Shayla's name.
Girl: Ashlyn,
Chiara, Keeley, Kenzie, Laney, Nola, Olivia, Rylee, Savannah, Sierra
*Update* Baby girl is Soraya Lee!
*Update* Baby girl is Soraya Lee!
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa
Gender: girl
Siblings: Ryder
Russell and Bingham Hawn (previous relationships)
Kate Hudson's boys have names bursting with
family significance. Ryder's middle name honors her stepdad Kurt Russell,
Bingham is named after Kurt's father (who was called Bing), and Hawn is Kate's
mother's surname. It's pretty clear that there will be an honor name somewhere
in her baby girl's name—the question is what that name will be. I'd love to see
Kate and Danny use a name that means "gold" to honor Kate's mom
Goldie. But considering each of her kids have alliterative first and last names
(Ryder Robinson and Bingham Bellamy), it could be fun to find an F name for
baby Fujikawa.
Girl: Aurelia,
Fable, Fia, Fleur, Fuchsia, Koko, Mika, Suki, Xanthe
*Update* Hello, Rani Rose!
*Update* Hello, Rani Rose!
Cardi B and Offset
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Jordan,
Kody, Kalea Marie (previous relationships)
Cardi B and Offset (given names: Belcalis and
Kiari Kendrell) are expecting their first child together! Offset already has
three kids--his sons are named Jordan and Kody, which have a definite '90s vibe
to them. However, his daughter is named Kalea, a beautiful Hawaiian name that
feels fresh in this era of Leilani and the like. But Cardi B has Dominican and
Trinidadian ancestry, so it's possible we'll see a name with Hispanic roots.
I'm curious to see how she will influence this sibset—will Cardi's baby's name
match up with Offset's other children's, or be totally incongruent?
Girl: Angeles,
Bonita, Carissa, Dominica, India, Kallista, Kiara, Sabrina, Solana
Boy: Baez,
Bronx, Chase, Dylan, Justus, Kade, Quinn, Tevin, Tigre, Tristan
*Update* It's a girl--Kulture Kiari!
*Update* It's a girl--Kulture Kiari!
Arielle Goldrath and Kevin McKidd
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Joseph,
Iona (previous relationship)
Scottish actor Kevin McKidd chose Iona for his
daughter back in the early aughts--a Scottish name that remains undiscovered in
the US. Considering there will be a fifteen year age difference between his two
youngest children, I would love for him and wife Arielle Goldrath to use
another Scottish name to cohere the sibset (and as a nod to Dad's roots).
Girl: Bonnie,
Blair, Eilidh, Greer, Isobel, Lileas, Maisie, Nessa, Tamsin, Vaila
Boy: Alistair,
Callum, Dashiell, Graham, Ian, Keir, Lachlan, Malcolm, Ross
*Update* It's a boy--Aiden!
*Update* It's a boy--Aiden!
Christine Lakin and Brandon Breault
Gender: boy
Siblings: Georgia
James
‘90s sitcom star Christine Lakin named her
daughter Georgia after her home state. Now she and husband Brandon Breault are
expecting a baby boy—I think a Southern gentlemanly name might be the perfect
thing to pair with Georgia, and would definitely match this couple’s style.
Boy: August, Beau, Brooks, Clayton, Dean, Heath,
Tucker, Walker, Wyatt

Celebrity Baby Name Predictions: Volume 23
When it
comes to naming babies, everyone has a different set of priorities and values.
One we talk about a lot is sibset coherence. Whether or not you're a name nerd,
it's easy to see the merits of a coordinated sibset. Oftentimes one has to
refer to their children as a group, and well-matched names makes it easy for
others to view them as a set.
But how much does this matter when the siblings
of a new baby are adults? My inclination is: not much. Adult children are off
living their own lives, and the amount of times they will be lumped into the
same group as their infant sibling is much less than if they had grown up
together. Therefore, I don't think anyone should stress over trying to find the
perfect name for their son who will be twenty years his sister's junior. Tastes
change over the years, and after a few decades, so do styles.
Many celebrities expecting babies this month are
going to be naming children with 20 or 30-plus age differences from some of
their siblings, and will have to determine the importance of this issue for
themselves. Daniel Craig's adult daughter Ella will have a little sister or
brother at the end of this year, as will Norman Reedus's grown son Mingus. Josh
Brolin's 29- and 24-year-old children are going to be the older siblings of a
baby girl, and Brigitte Nielsen's four adult sons (ranging in age from 23 to
34) will welcome another sibling into their brood.
For some, like Daniel Craig, creating a
harmonious sibset shouldn't be too much of a problem. For other, like Brigitte
Nielsen, it's already a lost cause. As for the rest, I'm curious to see how it
will play out--will these stars decide that a well-matched sibset is the way to
go, or give it up to choose the name that most speaks to their heart?
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Cyrus
Michael Christopher
Five years ago, Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy gave
their son the historic, regal-adjacent name Cyrus. It strikes that elusive
unpopular-but-familiar balance that is so often coveted by parents-to-be. I've
got my fingers crossed for Claire and Hugh to do it again—any of my suggestions
below would fit the bill.
Girl: Cleo, Della, Fern, Greta, Isadora, Lucinda, Minna, Phoebe, Romy
Girl: Cleo, Della, Fern, Greta, Isadora, Lucinda, Minna, Phoebe, Romy
Boy: Boaz,

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Ella,
Henry (previous relationships)
Both Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig have children
from a previous relationship. Daniel's 25-year-old daughter is named Ella,
while Rachel's 11-year-old son is named Henry. The two names already work well
together in terms of style, so the pressure is off for the new baby's name to
cohere their blended family. As long as they stick with the modern classics,
this combined sibset will be perfectly coordinated.
Girl: Alice, Amelia, Clara, Ivy, Lily, Lucy, Mila, Nora, Sophie, Ruby, Violet

Boy: August,

Shenae Grimes-Beech and Josh Beech
Gender: girl
Siblings: none
90210 star Shenae Grimes-Beech is a hardcore
rock and roll fan. Lucky for her, rock and roll (and music more generally)
offers a wealth of baby name inspiration. From guitar-strumming surnames
to soulful ballads, Shenae and Josh should have no trouble finding the
perfect name for their little wild child--whether they prefer girly and sweet
or sassy and androgynous names.
Girl: Axelle,
Bowie, Dylan, Everly, Hendrix, Jagger, Jett, Layla, Presley, Rose

Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard
Gender: unknown
Siblings: none
Model Chanel Iman and football player Sterling
Shepard are expecting their first child together later this year! Chanel's
style is unabashedly feminine, so I predict we will see something lovely and
romantic for her baby's name, no matter if it's a boy or girl. I'd like to see
her use a name with French origins like her own—Celeste or Sabine are my
favorites for girls, and I'm partial to Julien if baby is a boy.
Girl: Anastasia,
Camille, Celeste, Elle, Rose, Ruby, Sabine, Scarlett, Simone
Boy: Clark,
Dominic, Julien, Lucian, Marcel, Maxim, Quincy, Roman, Sebastian

Francesca Eastwood and Alexander Wraith
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Trajan (previous relationship)
Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca's name is a
variant of her mother's: Frances. I would love to see her continue the
tradition and use another Franc- name if her baby is a girl—something like
Franny or Frankie, or even just France—a cheerful (and drastically underused)
place name. Even if Francesca does not want to be her child's namesake, I
expect something frilly and ladylike for a daughter, or handsome and classic
for a son.
Girl: Cecilia,
Eloise, France, Frankie, Franny, Genevieve, Juliette, Vivienne
Boy: August,
Charles, Elliott, Harrison, Henry, Jack, James, Jasper, Theodore

Kathryn Boyd and Josh Brolin
Gender: girl
Siblings: Trevor,
Eden (previous relationship)
Back in the late eighties and early nineties,
Josh Brolin named his kids Trevor and Eden. Trevor was a well-used name during
his son's birth—sitting well within the top 100—although Eden was barely in the
top 700 when his daughter was born in 1994. Now, with an age gap of almost a
quarter century between his two youngest children, I'm curious to see if his
tastes have changed. For their newest daughter, will Josh and Kathryn choose
something well-established like Trevor, or an up-and-comer, like Eden once was?
Girl: Aurora, Briar, Emerald, Grace, Harper, Haven, Ivy, Lena, Lyra, Piper, Willow
*Update* She's here—Westlyn Reign!

Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus
Gender: unknown
Siblings: Mingus
Lucien (previous relationship)
Norman Reedus's adult son has the unusual
Scottish name Mingus. He is named for Charles Mingus, the jazz musician.
Perhaps Norman will be inspired by jazz again for his second child's name,
although expectant mother Diane Kruger is a native of Germany, so maybe a
Bavarian name is in order. No matter which direction they choose, there's a
plethora of good options.
Girl: Adelheid, Billie, Ella, Greta, Ilsa, Josephine, Lina, Lorelei, Matilda,
Zinnia
Boy: Axel,
Bix, Conrad, Ellington, Hugo, Kaiser, Kenton, Leon, Loudan, Till
Brigitte Nielsen and Mattia Dessi
Gender: unknown
Siblings:
Julian, Killian Marcus, Douglas Aaron, and Raoul Ayrton Jr. (previous relationships)
At 54 years old, Brigitte Nielsen is officially
the oldest celebrity mom-to-be I've ever profiled. She has four adult sons,
each with a name of different origin. Husband Mattia Dessi is Italian, so it's
likely we'll see an Italian name for baby number five. Although Brigitte
appears to have eclectic taste in baby names, so that's not a guarantee.
Girl: Amara,
Bianca, Brenna, Gia, Giuliana, Keira, Maeve, Tamsin, Wynne
Boy: Alonzo,
Dario, Declan, Conor, Marco, Matteo, Nolan, Orlando, Romeo
