Stylish Choices Outside the Top 1000: 2014 Girls

We all know the parents with that one requirement when it comes to names: Nothing inside the top 1000. Who knows, maybe it's you! I'll admit, I can be a bit of a name snob myself--I do prefer my favorites to be practically unique. All the names after the jump are outside the top 1000, in order of most used to least used (Esperanza with 257 uses in 2014, Romilly with 5). What's your favorite? Let me know.

  1. This list is marvelously helpful. I was shocked some names were more popular than others... in several cases, it was a pleasant surprise! Thank you, Sophie!

  2. I like India, Io, Delphine, Flavia, Ophelia, Olympia, Octavia, Maple, Zelda, Elowen and Romy. Why are these not more popular?

    1. I know! I was especially surprised by India and Romy. I guess I just hear them a lot from fellow namers, they seem like they should be more popular than they are!

    2. Also, Olivia is so popular, all the other names starting with O and ending in -ia should get some of the glory too.

    3. Yes, I hear Olivia all over the place. She's the only really popular O name, but there are so many other wonderful choices.
